1973 a marqué un moment important pour l'armée américaine avec l'introduction d'uniformes de service fabriqués à partir d'un mélange de polyester et de coton, connus sous le nom d'OG 507.

Ce nouvel uniforme représentait un changement notable par rapport aux matériaux précédents et présentait un aspect distinctif, appelé « impression durable », qui était nettement différent du tissu utilisé auparavant.

Les uniformes étaient lavables et plus faciles à entretenir, marqués de grandes étiquettes jaunes cousues à l'intérieur et dotés de fermetures à glissière plutôt que de boutons.

Ces uniformes, ainsi que les premiers OG-107, sont restés la norme jusqu'à l'introduction de l'uniforme de camouflage BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) en 1981.

Les OG-507, comme les précédents OG-107, présentaient une couleur vert foncé et kaki.

Composition : 50 % coton et 50 % polyester.

Pantalon anti-fatigue avec fermeture éclair Scovill.
