The vintage Jeans collection tells the story of a garment born from the world of work that, over time, has become one of the most recognizable items in contemporary clothing. A story written in denim

Before becoming a symbol of contemporary culture, jeans were a garment linked to work. In 1873, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis obtained a patent for a system that used metal rivets at the points of greatest strain on trousers, making them more durable. What we call blue jeans today were known then as waist overalls and belonged to the world of workwear.

From needs to culture

The history of jeans is interesting precisely because their meaning has changed without completely losing the connection to their origins. Created to meet the needs of those performing physically demanding work, the garment progressively moved away from its initial context. Over the course of the twentieth century, it entered everyday clothing and, subsequently, popular culture, becoming an element present in very different environments and generations. Its simplicity contributed to this transformation: jeans could be worn, modified, and interpreted without losing their identity.

Time as part of the garment

One of the most unique aspects of vintage jeans is the relationship between the denim and its use. The fabric does not remain the same as when it leaves production: washing and wear progressively alter its color and surface. In denim worn over a long period, variations, contrasts, and marks may appear, telling the story of how the garment was worn. Even seemingly simple details, such as the rivets, pocket stitching, or the small pocket originally intended for a watch, are part of the long evolution of jeans.
