60s 70s Lee Storm Rider Denim Jacket 101LJ - XL

The Lee Storm Rider is one of the most iconic denim jackets of the twentieth century, officially introduced in 1953 as a winter version of the Rider Jacket. Born from the experience of the H.D. Lee Company, which had established itself in the world of American workwear starting in 1889, the Storm Rider combined the durability of denim with the warmth of a blanket-wool lining and a corduroy collar, offering protection against the cold to cowboys and outdoor workers. Derived from the 101J, the “cowboy” jacket launched in the 1930s, it kept the same cut but added functional details that soon made it indispensable in the wardrobe of those who lived and worked outdoors.

In the fifties and sixties, the Storm Rider reached the peak of its popularity: the trademark with the image of the cowboy in the storm became a recognizable symbol, while the striped wool lining remained a hallmark of quality. During this period, the garment went beyond the boundaries of workwear, becoming part of American popular culture and even appearing on the big screen, thus consolidating its reputation as a timeless jacket.

Wool lining with horizontal yellow and blue stripes, no red stripes. Folded and stitched at the bottom of the jacket.
