Crackerjack pants from the US Navy in the 1960s. These traditional sailor pants with bell bottoms and a 13-button front placket have been part of the enlisted uniform since the 19th century. Designed for practical shipboard needs (freedom of movement, easy rolling up of the legs), they have become an iconic symbol of the American sailor over time. The name Crackerjack comes from the popular imagery associated with the famous snack box featuring a sailor in uniform.
