This gabardine work jacket dates back to the late 50s/early 60s. The open collar gives this model a distinctive and elegant look, a rare feature to find in a work jacket. The gabardine fabric, made of combed wool, does not have the weight of wool and is elastic and light, similar to cotton to the touch.
The jacket features a Talon zipper and retains all of the original tags, including the manufacturer's name "KC Custom Uniform Co.," the location "Kansas City, Missouri," and the previous owner's name. The gray color was typically worn by postal workers of the era.
The condition of the jacket is almost flawless, with small imperfections in the cotton that do not detract from the overall appearance.
The cuffs have leather reinforcements internally.
Extremely rare item.
Dating Details
Although the jacket is dated "1965", it is believed to have been produced in the 1950s, considering the silhouette and materials used.
The "Custom Tailors Union Label" union label is still present, giving further authenticity to the product.
Union Label Information:
Historical sources indicate that the union disbanded around 1914; however, this jacket does not date from that time. It is common for tailors to use union labels from earlier periods on garments made in later years.
