History:
Introduced in France in the 19th century, the work jacket quickly became the most popular garment among professionals. The color blue, used by French weavers to hide rips and stains, was popular among farmers, craftsmen, auto workers, and railroad workers.
Carpenters preferred the color black. The bleu de travail are characterized, in some cases, by the typical hbt cotton. In the 50s, these jackets came back into fashion, becoming iconic elements in the panorama of vintage fashion.
