French work jacket produced approximately in the 60s. The sun and use have created shades of unique blue, a sign of decades of intense work. The collar, visibly reinforced, has hand-made repair stitching that tells a story of care and resistance.
History:
The work jacket originated in France in the 19th century, quickly becoming the garment of choice for many professions. The classic blue color, adopted by French weavers, served to hide tears and stains, making it ideal for farmers, craftsmen, auto workers, and railroad workers. Carpenters, however, favored black.
There are various fabrics and there are a wide variety of working environments and historical contexts, such as cotton twill fabric, moleskine fabric, cotton pike fabric, corduroy etc.
