1973 was a significant year for the U.S. Army with the introduction of the OG 507 Service Uniform, a polyester/cotton blend.
This new clothing represented a notable change from previous materials, with a clearly distinguishable “durable print.”
The uniforms were washable, easy to maintain, and featured large yellow labels on the inside, with zipper closures. They remained the standard, along with the OG-107, until the advent of the BDU camouflage uniforms in 1981, with a dark green and khaki color. .
The OG-507 like the previous OG-107 featured a dark green and khaki color.
