History:

The history of bell-bottoms has its origins in the military, more precisely among sailors. This style was adopted by the United States Navy starting in 1800.

Sailors discovered that trousers with wider legs at the bottom offered numerous advantages.

The extra material made it easier to retrieve sailors who fell overboard. The loose fit allowed wet sailors to remove their trousers more easily while in the water, making swimming easier.

They were easier to roll up over the knee when working in humid environments.

These trousers, made of a high-quality denim fabric and recognizable by the double patch pockets on the front, remained the official uniform of the United States Navy until 1998.

The popularity of bell-bottoms was not limited to the military. In the 1960s and 1970s, the style was adopted by civilian fashion and became a symbol of hippie and counterculture culture. Celebrities and musicians of the time, such as members of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, helped make them iconic. Even today, bell-bottoms are considered a timeless piece of clothing, a symbol of rebellion and unique style.
