Champion's history dates back to the late 19th century, when two brothers of Italian descent, Feinbloom, founded the company in Rochester, New York, in 1919. Initially known as the "Knickerbocker Knitting Company," the company focused on the production of underwear and knitwear for athletes.
In the 1930s, Champion introduced the first technical sportswear, the double-layered reversible T-shirt, which was a huge hit, especially among football and baseball players. Over the years, Champion continued to innovate in sportswear, introducing increasingly advanced fabrics and designs to improve athletes' performance.
During the 20th century, Champion became a well-known brand in sportswear, providing uniforms for various professional and college teams in the United States. Meanwhile, the brand was also expanding internationally, becoming a significant presence in the global sportswear market.
