History:

In the 1950s, Gene Salem founded WearGuard in Massachusetts, running his business out of a converted milk truck. Realizing that his customers, gas station owners, were too busy to go out and buy uniforms, Gene drove the products directly to them.

Selling high-quality work shirts and pants from his truck, he delivered the custom suits the next day directly to customers' homes. This fast, personalized service, along with Gene's quality and expert embroidery, earned him the appreciation of station owners.

In 1991, WearGuard purchased ET Wright, adding casual and fashion footwear to its catalog.

The following year, WearGuard was acquired by Aramark-Uniform, a division of Aramark, becoming the perfect partner for their national uniform rental business.

In 1996, Aramark purchased Crest Uniform, a leading supplier of uniform apparel to the food service, hospitality and healthcare industries, and merged it with WearGuard to expand its custom workwear offerings into new industries.
