Work trousers were born in France around the 19th century and soon became the most widely used garment for anyone practicing any profession.
The typical blue color is used by French textiles to hide any tears and stains and was generally worn by farmers, craftsmen, auto workers and railway workers. Black was the preferred choice for carpenters.
