History:
The work jacket originated in France in the 19th century, quickly becoming the most popular garment for various professions. The typical blue color, used by French weavers, served to hide tears and stains, making it ideal for farmers, craftsmen, auto workers and railway workers. Carpenters, on the other hand, preferred black.
A distinctive feature of some bleu de travail is the use of hbt cotton.
In the 1950s, these jackets came back into fashion, becoming iconic pieces in the world of vintage clothing.
