The work jacket was born in France around the 19th century and soon became the most used garment for those who practiced any profession.

The typical blue color is used by French textiles to hide any tears and stains and was generally worn by farmers, craftsmen, auto workers and railway workers. Black was the preferred choice for carpenters.

One of the aspects that most characterizes the bleu de travail is certainly, in some garments, the typical HBT cotton.

Work jackets then came back into fashion around the 1950s, becoming iconic pieces in the world of vintage clothing.
